Economical ideas wanted to keep foxes out

We moved our chickens recently to the bottom of the garden (we didn't want them wandering around spring/summer veg beds) and looked into giving them more of a run in the wildlife garden.
The actual hen house is fox proof but we like to give them more of a run and the options we have looked at eg wooden posts, netting etc seem very expensive - chicken wire fencing on sale doesn't seem high enough. It is tricky getting posts down in rough ground.
Does anyone have any tips - should the run have a lid?

The one at my daughter's school is made this way, about three feet wide, two feet high , and six feet long. It is moved around regularly so that the grass is not picked too short and the chickens have fresh areas to peck in. The bottom of the cage is also chicken wire to prevent easy access if it is tipped over. Dont forget to ensure any joins are tied together with wire twists at regular intervals to prevent them being forced apart, |
